Productivity is a key factor for modern manufacturers, and according to the latest Manufacturing Barometer, undertaken by the government’s Business Growth Service, 84% of respondents have earmarked productivity as an issue to improve if they are to meet this year’s objectives.

Steps have to be undertaken in order to boost productivity by cutting wasted costs, improving efficiency and working smarter, and this is a real concern for manufacturers that need to do better in a market saturated with competition and increasingly demanding customers.

In Industry 4.0, solutions are increasingly on the market designed to automate processes, eliminate human error, track shop floor data in real-time and allow factories to work smarter and faster, and the adoption of these solutions can lead to great strides in productivity.
